Fleece is one of our favourite fabrics for cosy warmth and easy care comfort - especially when you consider how perfect it is as a synthetic, and even vegan, alternative to wool!
Traditionally, fleece is made using non-renewable resources like raw petroleum so we've taken everything we love about it and come up with an eco-conscious alternative that uses recycled plastic - from drinking bottles, industrial waste and even old clothes - instead but doesn't compromise on comfort or quality.
Why is recycled polyester better?
It takes less energy to make recycled polyester than virgin polyester
Preserves natural resources including raw petroleum
We use at least 25 plastic bottles to make one fleece jacket
That means fewer plastic bottles are thrown into landfill each year!
A second life
Across the planet, 1 million plastic bottles are purchased per minute. Whilst most of these bottles go straight to landfill, it's possible to give them a better purpose by recycling them into new textiles and products. Demand for polyester made from recycled plastic bottles saves more plastic waste from a fate of more than 400 years spent decomposing in landfill.
